Descriptions

Cascara Complex is a combination of Cascara, Yellow Dock, Dandelion, Dill and German Chamomile. Cascara is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine as a laxative to relieve constipation and increase bowel regularity.

Indications

  • Cascara bark, Yellow Dock root and Dandelion root are traditionally used in Western herbal medicine as a laxative to relieve constipation and increase bowel regularity
  • Dandelion root is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to support bile production and liver health
  • Yellow dock root is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine as a cholagogue and depurative

    Dose:

    Adults:1 tablet at bedtime daily; increase dose to 1 tablet up to 3 times daily if required.
    This product is intended for occasional use, on an as-required basis.

        Ingredients

        Each tablet contains:
        Frangula purshiana(Cascara) extract 93.3 mg
        derived from stem bark dry 1.12 g
        Rumex crispus(Yellow Dock) extract 93.8 mg
        derived from root and rhizome dry 375 mg
        Taraxacum officinale(Dandelion) extrac 93.8 mg
        derived from root dry 375 mg
        Anethum graveolens(Dill) seed essential oil 15 mg
        Matricaria chamomilla(German Chamomile) flower essential oil 2 mg


        Allergen Information

        • No added:Gluten, soya bean, milk, lactose, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacea, egg, sesame seeds, artificial colours or flavours
        • Vegan friendly

        Excipients


        Calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate


        Warning:

        • Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present, or if diarrhoea develops.
        • Prescribe with caution during pregnancy and lactation.
        • Not for excessive dosage. Prolonged use may cause serious bowel problems.
        • Advise patient to drink plenty of water.
        • Avoid high doses in patients taking antiarrhythimic drugs and potassium depleting medications. Maintain patients on a high potassium diet.
        • The risk of allergic reaction to Chamomile oil is low, including in those with known hypersensitivity to Chamomile or to other plants in the Compositae family.
        • Use in children under 12 years is not recommended.
        • Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.
        • If patient symptoms persist, seek additional professional advice.
