Warnings & Precautions

  • For practitioner dispensing and professionally guided use.

  • Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

  • Contains ethanol.

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Grindelia or another plant in the Asteraceae family, including ragweed, daisies, chrysanthemums or marigolds.

  • Discontinue use and seek urgent medical attention if facial swelling, tongue swelling, throat tightness, breathing difficulty, widespread hives or other signs of a serious allergic reaction occur.

  • Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended unless specifically directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner, as safety has not been established for these groups.

  • This 60% ethanol practitioner extract should not be given to children or adolescents unless individually prescribed with an age-appropriate dosage.

  • Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, heart disease or another diagnosed respiratory condition.

  • Do not stop or replace prescribed inhalers, antibiotics, corticosteroids or other respiratory medicines unless directed by your prescribing healthcare professional.

  • Consult your practitioner before combining with sedatives, benzodiazepines, sleeping medicines or other central nervous system depressants. A possible additive sedative effect has been identified at high Grindelia doses, although the assessed risk is considered low or theoretical.

  • Discontinue use at least seven days before general anaesthesia unless otherwise directed by your healthcare professional.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

When to Seek Medical Advice

Do not continue self-treatment if symptoms are severe, worsening or prolonged.

Seek prompt medical assessment if you experience:

  • Breathing difficulty or shortness of breath

  • High fever

  • Chest pain

  • Thick or discoloured mucus

  • Cough lasting longer than two to three weeks

  • Coughing up blood

Call 000 for severe breathing difficulty, blue lips, marked drowsiness, inability to speak in full sentences, or a serious asthma flare-up that does not respond to reliever medicine.

Do not increase the dose because coughing, mucus or chest discomfort persists.

Note: Traditional-use claims for Grindelia should not be interpreted as evidence that the product treats, cures or prevents respiratory disease.
